We founded Paper or Plastik Cafe in 2010 as a family: Anya & Yasha Michelson, a husband-and-wife design team, along with our daughter, Marina, a filmmaker, and now Max, a college student. Over the last 12 years, we have proudly extended our family to include a fantastic team of baristas, servers, cooks, and dishwashers, and a community of regular customers.
Nourishment Beyond the Plate
Our mission is to nourish guests with quality food, drink, culture, and community under one roof. Inspired by Los Angeles’ diversity and our family’s international roots, our menu is eclectic and well-rounded. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus seasonal specials made with California’s freshest produce. Guests can also enjoy pastries from some of L.A.’s finest bakeries, including Cake Monkey, Bread Lounge, and Ludivine Bakery.
